A sweet game trailer I stumbled upon via LikeCOOL. A 2D side scroller with a very dark and dangerous feel. And people say video games aren't art.

App Inventor for Android
Google is making it easier for you to write applications. Checkout their App Inventor - an easy online interface for writing applications for your phone. It is oddly reminiscent of the Lego Mindstorms programming interface with drag and drop blocks that connect to each other. It may not allow to do everything, but its fast and easy.

We are back with Shootout Monday!
After a brief hiatus in the wildnerness at our secret lair, we are back to the style at Vund3rbar. To aid our post-vacation woes, what better a remedy then some good old fashioned shootouts!?
Both of these videos have some pretty sweet action in their own styles. The lego one is super sweet.
And the cardboard one has some sweet props.

M. Night Shyamalan Finally Made A Comedy
M. Night Shyamalan Finally Made A Comedy: Charlie Jane Anders scathing review of Avatar the Last Airbender is likely far funnier than the movie which is an enormous travesty. It is sad to see something that could have been so great get mangled. The review manages to squeeze in one small compliment among a couple pages of sarcastic criticisms. You guessed it, the special effects are awesome - which occasionally makes you forget how bad the rest of the movie is.
Hulu Plus!
As someone who loves internet TV (seeing as how I don't have cable or satellite) Hulu Plus for $10 a month sounds like an awesome idea. As long as the content is there, I will pay. But it sounds like the Daily Show and Colbert Report will not be available, severely hurting my chances of signing up. One extra bonus though, iPhone and iPad viewing comes with the subscription! Check it out at Gizmodo

Stream Big Boi's solo album right now!
Sir Lucious Left Foot... The Son of Chico Dusty is the solo album debut by one half of my favorite hip-hop duo Outkast, Big Boi. This album doesnt come out until July 6th, so take advantage of this generosity to listen in full now. You can also pre-order the album at Big Boi's site with different options including some cool swag. The limited edition Goodwood necklace (pretty rad but i got my eye on The Skullness) is enough justification for dropping the extra dough on the deluxe Goodwood pack.

Which one of these is not like the other? Which one of these does not belong?

Robert Mackenzie

Greg Peltz
If you answered none, or you don't know, then you might be right. Greg Peltz says on his blog that he was so inspired after seeing Robert Mackenzie's work that he wanted to recreate his own version to hang in his house. He of course gives full credit to Mackenzie for the idea, but has since gone on to make a whole sleuth of other paintings. You would be a fool to not checkout both artists pages to see their dazzling work.

14th Anniversary, Stone Emperial IPA
My other favorite-est brewery on the planet, Stone Brewery, has released its 14th anniversary beer today, Emperial IPA. The statement released by Head Brewer Mitch Steele and President and Brewmaster Steve Wagner says that for this brew they went on an escapade to England to search out the old British techniques and ingredients for making a traditional British style ale. Only fitting then that the 14th anniversary Emperial IPA uses all British ingredients except for the water.
I personally can't wait to try out this new offering from a very respectable and reputable brewery. Also, if in the San Diego area, you should definitely head over for a brewery tour.

Dogfish head Bitches Brew!
One of my favorite breweries on the planet, Dogfish head, has released another seasonal sometimes brew, Bitches Brew. This one is a tribute to the original Bitches Brew jazz album crafted by Miles Davis in 1970. Head on over to their site to check it out and order some stuff. If you happen to be by a distributor who can get you Dogfish heads or carries them regularly youd be a fool not to try them all.

Avatar The Last Airbender
M. Night Shamalan is making a live action movie based on the cartoon Avatar: The Last Airbender. I was an avid fan of the cartoon, and while I am not sure if his dark and serious adaptation does the cartoon justice, I am still very excited to see what the movie can do. The main characters can control the 4 elements (fire, earth, water, and air) and to make it look realistic they needed to bust out some serious special effects. They hired movie CG bigwigs ILM (from Transformers and Star Wars) to come up with some seriously awesome looking effects. Check the breakdown at i09 or the latest trailer here:

OK GO! - End Love
Will OK GO ever stop making amazing music videos? Judging by this last one, No. These guys have a lot of aces up their sleeves. Checkout the latest where they do some serious video manipulation, speeding up and slowing down the film to create on awesome video. Not a bad song either :)
Checkout their facebook contest to upload their video to facebook. Whoever gets the most comments wins an iPad!
The fastest we go is 172,800x, compressing 24 hours of real time into a blazing 1/2 second. The slowest is 1/32x speed, stretching a mere 1/2 second of real time into a whopping 16 seconds. This gives us a fastest to slowest ratio of 5.5 million. If you like averages, the average speed up factor of the band dancing is 270x. In total we shot 18 hours of the band dancing and 192 hours of LA skyline timelapse – over a million frames of video – and compressed it all down to 4 minutes and 30 seconds! Oh and don't forget, it's one continuous camera shot.

Where to Watch the World Cup
If you are without TV, like I am unfortunately, then you may appreciate this Lifehacker article on where to watch the World Cup! I was looking for games on ESPN3 on Sunday, but it didn't appear to have all the games. Lifehacker also recommends CBS Sports, Optus, TVU Network, the BBC, and iTV - so you should be able to find something.
Also checkout DesignNotes and their 5 device world cup Bonanza. He recommends following twitter, if you have soccer related tweets that you feel you can't miss. But otherwise, it is a pretty sweet setup.

Get Over Here!
Mortal Kombat is a dark and violent video game. A movie based on it should mirror the game's mood and be correspondingly sinister. If this awesome 8 min clip is anything to go by, the new Mortal Kombat movie will fit just perfectly.

iPhone vs Android
As I am trying to determine whether to get an iPhone 4 or the new Evo it is important to also consider the OS. Based on this lifehacker review, Android edges out the iPhone OS. But they each have their plusses and minuses. See the full rundown at Lifehacker
Best Commercial ever? Ronal-Doh!
Nike Football presents their latest commercial for these World Cup times entitled, "Write the Future." It is a great spot full of stars and cameos, mixed with a little funny. In relation, Nike is now the #1 soccer company in the world. Wait, what?! When did they takeover Adidas and the others? Who knows, but the commercial certainly conveys their dominance.

The show originally featured the works of skating legends: Lance Mountain, Pat Ngoho, Steve Caballero and Steve Olson. More recently the show has been adding more artists to the mix and it is creating quite the awesome event.

Do Want!
The latest android phone offered over at Sprint is the HTC Evo 4G known earlier as the supersonic. The phone is a beast to say the least. Jam packed with the latest hardware and running the almost current android 2.1 (When will it get Froyo 2.2? who knows....) software redone with the Sense package that those of you with a Sprint android phone familiar with.
The only bummer about this new offering is that it comes tied with a mandatory $10 data charge for the 4G network use whether you live in one of the 10 cities with WiMax right now or not.
Head on over to Gizmodo to read their full review which is also Jam packed, but with details.

Best Song of the Year?
The Gay 90's Old Tyme Art Show - ONLY 2 days left!
Mark Ryden has an exhibit at the Paul Kasmin Gallery in NYC till June 5th. That's only 2 more days to see if folks. So grab your metro card and head down to 10th Ave and check it out. This is a show you dont want to miss.
Ryden, a master of the paintbrush, is a Surrealist-ish artist who blends modern culture references with chops of meat and a touch of early religious influences. Looking at his pieces, it is easy to lose track of time. I often wonder why the characters in his work all seem like everything is normal and dont notice they are made up of lamb chops and baby back ribs. There is a lot of questions asked and many connections to be drawn when viewing Ryden's stuff. Bottom line is I like his work and its fun to look at over and over.
